How to make an Application design work

Writen by Hassan Siraj

Design serves as the backbone of the project and designing an application is not just linked to one designer but an entire dedicated team. While designing an application if the business owner shows involvement and participation, the chances of launching a well-defined product increase. While going through the journey of digital design with the potential to work and stand out, we will take a look at Brand jaw’s approach towards designing an unmatchable product while putting light on some useful practices that will serve as the essence of years of professional experience.

Before emphasizing the concept of design that works let’s focus on what actually is working design. Talking of design there are two components User Interface (UI) and user experience (UX). So the crux of any design is the user, the contentment of the user is the key to the success of the design.

Catchy and Attractive

A working design is not only catchy and attractive rather easy to use. It should facilitate the user to the extent that the user can instantly get the idea of an application’s interface patterns and components. The easier design will be con convenience users to attain the desired results with minimum hindrance. An intuitive experience will help to retain the customer which can be fruitful for business on the longer run.

The design needs to be intuitive

The design that works needs to be intuitive, easy to use, aesthetically appealing, and user-friendly, and to do so it is important to develop a detailed understanding of the user-their preferences, priorities, and utilization. It is not wrong to say that the design should be user-centric to achieve all this.It is a process in which the analysis is carried out to understand the dynamics of users. After analyzing it, the problem is redefined following the user’s perspective leading to generate the optimal design. In this, the potential users of the product are kept under consideration.

There are four stages of this Process:

1. Understand the utility
It is important to understand the scenario in which your users will use your product.

2. Identify requirements
Recognize and regenerate the users’ requirements.

3. Plan a solution
Work on the possible solutions to identify the best-suited one.

4. Analyze the solution
Analyze the solution against your users’ scenario and requirements, to make sure it is relatable to users’ specific needs. That’s not the end, however, the team then performs further iterations of these four phases and continues until the results are satisfactory.

Optimize UX

Optimize UX is one more useful approach that’s efficient and frequently used. This technique, born out of Toyota’s manufacturing model, focuses on alignment with Agile development methods. It aims to reduce waste and increase value.  In simplest, the formula is: think, make, check. By using this technique it is easier to develop a product design that’s not only user-centric but also highly efficient from a business perspective. In short, an ideal design does not only fit users’ needs but is sustainable and can survive in a competitive environment.
